I play with a dark pen and a light pen, and I use the light pen to make little bubbles instead of dots, then ill color in the bubble if It can no longer be that number, eventually there are going to be times when notes for all number will be important

Two options or no note — that's the rule that made hard grids readable for me. A clean pair of 4s beats a cell crammed with candidates every time.
