These are layoffs repackaged as early retirement and voluntary exit programs to protect public perception and shareholder confidence. Companies are prioritizing profits over people, disguising workforce reductions as employee benefits, and the stock market is rewarding them for it. Why continue investing in companies that refuse to invest in their own employees? Everything about this is troubling.
