@thatssourr: September 2023 — During a Friday-night street performance in downtown Athens, Georgia, University of Georgia student Andrew Hsu — performing as The Andrew Shoe, keyboard and harmonica — plays his last song of the night, Billy Joel's "Piano Man"; a woman slams her hand down on his keys, leaves, then returns and knocks the keyboard off its stand onto the concrete, and appears to reach into his tip bucket; bystanders boo, help him right the keyboard, and one man empties his wallet into the tip jar September 25, 2023 — Hsu posts the video to TikTok (@theandrewshoe); it passes 3 million views in under a day and viewers identify the woman as 21-year-old Tommanesha Shauntae Heard; the backlash spills onto her family, even though Hsu asks viewers in the video itself not to harass her September 2023 — Heard apologizes to Hsu and, in public posts, takes accountability and asks that her family be kept out of it — but she denies stealing any money, saying she only pump-faked reaching into the bucket, and denies breaking the piano; Hsu confirms he accepted her apology, and says she still needed to own up to what she did October 2023 — Athens-Clarke County police tell Atlanta News First that Heard has been charged with theft by taking and criminal trespass, interference with property; police say warrants have been issued, that Heard is aware of them, and that she has not turned herself in; the portable keyboard survived — Casio offers Hsu a new keyboard and stand, Korg offers gear, and singer Charlie Puth sends encouragement and invites Hsu to one of his shows Status — No news outlet has reported an arrest on those warrants, a plea, or an outcome since; reposts keep recirculating the 2023 clip as breaking news, often folding in Heard's unrelated November 25, 2022 Clarke County booking — theft of lost or mislaid property and financial transaction card fraud — as if it were part of this case #AthensGeorgia #PianoMan #StreetPerformer #TheAndrewShoe #AndrewHsu
