@ground.level.livin: Ohio families are being left to deal with the consequences of decisions made to benefit some of the biggest corporations in the world. Jon Husted helped secure $1.8 BILLION in tax exemptions for Amazon, Meta and Google data center projects in Ohio. Now, as electricity demand puts more pressure on the regional power grid, he’s promoting “ratepayer protection” measures to address the very problem critics say these policies helped create. For people in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton and communities across Ohio, this is about more than billion dollar corporations. It’s about monthly electric bills, the cost of keeping the lights on and whether ordinary households will end up paying more while tech giants receive massive tax breaks. If these companies are bringing enormous new electricity demands to Ohio, residents deserve to know who is paying for the infrastructure needed to support them. And if lawmakers are serious about protecting ratepayers, those protections need to hold corporations accountable instead of leaving families to pick up the tab. Should Ohio taxpayers be subsidizing Big Tech while working families worry about their electric bills?

There’s more demand than supply in the pjm controlled power grid… so the cost is lowered to the rest of us because the data centers signed contracts with the utility suppliers for certain rates, so we make up the difference… am I close and don’t trust a fucker who took bribes from first energy
