WHO ELSE SUPPORTS JACK SMITH FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL UNDER THE NEXT DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT? The possibility of Jack Smith serving as attorney general under a future Democratic president raises important questions about accountability, prosecutorial independence, and the future of the American justice system. Smith became nationally known for leading federal investigations involving Donald Trump, making him a significant figure in the ongoing debate over presidential power and the rule of law. Supporters of Smith's work argue that the United States needs experienced prosecutors who are willing to investigate allegations involving powerful political figures when the evidence warrants it. They believe that the justice system must operate independently of political influence and that public officials should face the same legal standards as other citizens. Smith has an extensive prosecutorial background. Before becoming special counsel in November 2022, he worked on federal public corruption cases and served in international war-crimes prosecution roles. Supporters point to this experience as a reason he could bring substantial legal expertise to the Justice Department. However, appointing a former special counsel as attorney general would also raise questions about impartiality, political divisions, and the importance of maintaining public confidence in federal law enforcement. Any nominee would need to demonstrate a commitment to enforcing the law fairly, regardless of party affiliation. A future Democratic president has not been confirmed to have selected Smith for the position, so the proposal remains hypothetical. Any appointment would also require Senate confirmation. What do you think? Should Jack Smith be considered for attorney general under a future Democratic administration, or would another candidate be better suited to lead the Justice Department? Share your thoughts in the comments. Should the next attorney general prioritize prosecutorial independence, government accountability, public trust, or a combination of all three? Let's discuss the qualifications and principles that should guide America's next attorney general.

7 of 7 ~ 10 Apps That Prove You Don’t Need Big Tech I was paying $147 a month — $1,764 a year — for subscriptions I barely used. So I replaced them with 10 self-hosted apps. In this video, Cool Dude Explains breaks down Beszel, Rybbit, DockFlare, Karakeep, DocMost, Vaultwarden, Wallos, LibreChat, n8n, and LibrePhotos. No per-seat fees. No cloud lock-in. No one selling your data. Just your own server, your own apps, your own data. If you’ve been searching for self-hosted apps, free alternatives to paid subscriptions, Vaultwarden tutorial, n8n self-hosted, LibrePhotos Google Photos alternative, self-hosted password manager, self-hosted analytics, or how to stop paying for cloud storage, this list will save you hundreds — even thousands — every year. 🔹10 Self-Hosted Apps Covered: • Beszel – Lightweight server monitoring (10–15MB agent) vs Prometheus/Grafana • Rybbit – Cookieless, open-source analytics; no consent banners • DockFlare – Cloudflare Tunnels + Docker ingress controller; no open ports • Karakeep – Bookmark-everything app with AI auto-tagging • DocMost – Self-hosted Notion/Confluence alternative; no per-seat fees • Vaultwarden – Lightweight Bitwarden-compatible password server (~50MB RAM) • Wallos – Self-hosted subscription tracker with renewal reminders • LibreChat – Self-hosted ChatGPT alternative; conversations stay local • n8n – Visual workflow automation; replaces Zapier per-task pricing • LibrePhotos – Self-hosted Google Photos alternative with face recognition & AI search ⚠️ Honest Notes: • All 10 require self-hosting — a server, storage, and a weekend of setup. • Beszel is not as feature-rich as Prometheus/Grafana; no multi-year retention. • Rybbit needs a server + database + port configuration. • DockFlare still relies on Cloudflare; if Cloudflare goes down, your app goes down. • Karakeep needs an AI model — local via LM Studio (private) or API (faster, less private). • DocMost is not as polished as Notion; some features missing. • Vaultwarden: you are responsible for backups. No recovery email. Back it up twice. • Wallos doesn’t connect to your bank — you add subscriptions manually. • LibreChat needs decent hardware; a GPU helps but small models run on a mini PC. • n8n first workflow takes an afternoon or two to learn. • LibrePhotos setup takes a weekend; you need storage and backups. 🔒 Security & Privacy Warnings: • Self-hosting means you are the admin — updates, backups, and security are your job. • Vaultwarden: if the server dies, your vault dies with it. Back it up twice. • DockFlare: add login protection; don’t expose services publicly without auth. • n8n and LibreChat can access sensitive data — use scoped API keys and strong passwords. • LibrePhotos: face recognition and AI search run on your server; storage grows fast. • Wallos: financial data stays local — but don’t host it on a weak, unpatched server. ⏱️ Timestamps: 00:00 – Beszel: Lightweight Server Monitoring 01:08 – Rybbit: Cookieless Analytics 02:09 – DockFlare: Secure Tunnels Without Open Ports 03:08 – Karakeep: AI Bookmark Manager 04:03 – DocMost: Self-Hosted Notion 04:51 – Vaultwarden: Self-Hosted Passwords 05:51 – Wallos: Subscription Tracker 06:52 – LibreChat: Private ChatGPT Alternative 07:53 – n8n: Self-Hosted Zapier 08:41 – LibrePhotos: Self-Hosted Google Photos 09:29 – Final Thoughts & Subscribe 📌 Important Note: Self-hosting is not “set and forget.” You must handle updates, backups, and security. If you’re not ready for that, start with one app — Vaultwarden or Wallos — before moving your whole life. 📚 Watch the full Cool Dude Explains playlist here: Playlist [1] • Apps & Websites Explained Playlist [2] • AI Tools Explained Playlist [3] • Everything Else Explained #CoolDudeExplains #SelfHosted #FreeApps #StopPaying #DataOwnership #Vaultwarden #n8n #LibrePhotos #LibreChat #Beszel #Rybbit #DockFlare #Karakeep #DocMost #Wallos #OpenSource #Privacy #SelfHosting
