@learnwithl: The Chinese title of Against the Current actually makes a lot more sense than the English one! Edit: too many ppl are misinformed about the Jin Qi scene. No, the branches he broke off was NOT apricot blossoms (红杏), so it was NOT related to the poem about the affair. It was plum blossom (梅花), which is related to the poem I mentioned, where Xiang Ru Gu 香如故 comes from! Also yes LAN Xiang’s mother’s name is Xue Mei, which I do believe is another directly link to the Xiang Ru Gu poem. LAN Xiang reaching for the flowers means a lot more than thinking of her mother, because this scene was also used in the opening intro , what fades into Jin Qi appreciating the same flowers.
