Landon underwent another major surgery today, and thankfully, everything went well! The surgeons repaired his left femur (thigh bone) and kneecap. They placed a rod inside his femur and screws in his kneecap to put everything back together and stabilize the bones. They also discovered an area of bone near his knee joint that had been crushed and was partially missing. To repair this, they used a special glass-based material covered with a layer that encourages new bone growth. The goal is for his body to gradually grow new bone in that area while the material slowly dissolves over time. We also received some encouraging news about his right leg! The surgeons took another look at the large wound on his right thigh where they previously had to remove dead muscle and tissue. Although they found a little more dead tissue, the wound looked much better than it did on Monday! This was such a relief after learning that amputation could become necessary if the tissue continued to deteriorate. The plan is for the plastic surgery team to take Landon back into surgery on Friday to clean out the wound again, evaluate the remaining tissue, and begin developing a plan to eventually close the wound when it's ready. We did have another concern arise this evening. We noticed that Landon's left foot, on the leg that was operated on today, felt cooler than his right. His pulse is still present, although not quite as strong, and his circulation checks are otherwise reassuring. The orthopedic team came to evaluate him and recommended keeping his feet covered and continuing to monitor them closely. Now for one of the BEST parts of today! Landon continued responding to commands off and on throughout the day, but we had another incredibly special moment. He was looking at me, and I asked him,

Landon continued responding to commands off and on throughout the day, but we had another incredibly special moment. He was looking at me, and I asked him, "Landon, if you can see me, raise your eyebrows." AND HE DID!!! After everything we've been through, these moments mean more than words can describe. We know his neurological recovery is still uncertain and that he has a very long road ahead, but every response gives us another reason to be hopeful. If everything goes well with Friday's procedure, the orthopedic surgeons are also planning to repair both of his broken arms next week. Landon has already endured so much, and there are still many challenges ahead. But we are incredibly thankful for another successful surgery, improvement in his right leg wound, and most importantly, more encouraging signs of neurological recovery. Please continue praying for Landon's brain to heal, for healthy circulation and healing in both legs, for Friday's procedure to go well, and for continued progress every single day. Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for Landon and support our family. We are so grateful for all the love surrounding our boy. Keep fighting, Landon! We love you so much! ❤️
