Bookmark for later, but Castle Rock Pool in Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area. Very cool public pool dropped in nature. They open mid-May through late September on weekends and holidays. We’ve lived here for almost 4 years and I only discovered it a few months ago during a hike. Great summer heat escape

walking around downtown at night (every night but especially Fri/Sat) is pretty cool because of all the bars and restaurants. And some of them have events throughout the month and some have live music and line dancing and karaoke. Lots to explore if you’re into nightlife at all!!

I feel like people forget that there is a Lyndsey wildlife museum, where you can literally hang out with a bald eagle. They have live animal demonstrations where you can touch some of the smaller ones, and have conversations with birds, etc.. It’s really cool for kids and as an adult I loved it.

The real answer is no. Walnut Creek is great but you can run through it fairly quickly. Capt chest, arties, Mr luckys for dives. Original joes, montecatinis for Italian. Mona’s for a good burger + glass of wine. Hellopho for pho. Residual sugar for wine bar. Calicraft for casual drinks. Besides that’s there’s not a single serviceable cocktail lounge. Food is decent but mostly overpriced and mid. Come to SF for better quality and more things to do. There’s really no secrets in Walnut Creek as they’ve been commercializing like crazy over the last 5-10 years

Shadowbrook Winery. Reservation only, but bc it’s right at the base of Mt Diablo, you feel like you’re not in Walnut Creek bc all you can see is the vineyard.
