My life just flashed before my eyes…panic disorder, no SSRIs worked, crazy abdo pain - fentanyl doesn’t touch the sides, endoscopy/colonoscopy NAD, my neck and back are like cement, I’m bendy all over (was a great gymnast), diagnosed ADHD, can’t burp, flush red all the time with different foods & emotions, Reynauds, chronic low ferritin & I’m pretty sure POTS…I’m 40 and only just putting this all together 🥴

I have an antacid I take for GERD (it's bad do to my hEDS) and if I take the pink and black, or black and white version of the med it works great and I have no reaction, If I get given the teal and pink one it gives me awful stomach cramps and nausea. I took one other pill with a teal colored capsule and I believe I react to the teal die in the capsule. It's been nearly impossible to make sure I don't get the teal ones when they just try to give me which ever generic is available and cheapest that day.

Getting on HRT has almost completely reversed my MCAS, do you know if there’s any links between estrogen issues and MCAS?

The other things being meds that just don’t do anything for us! Fentanyl, Dilaudid, Zofran, anesthesia don’t work unless in large doses so I look like a drug seeker!!

I have one of those mystery bodies! Question: I never get fevers and am wondering if that could be related (I am very hypermobile, treated for ADHD, etc)? I was actually hospitalized last summer for a severe infection because my surgeon didn’t believe that I had an infection post-op. I could tell that I had one because I get infections a lot and know what it feels like in my body but I don’t get fevers so I was dismissed. Turned out I had a severe infection and when I was finally admitted, my temp was still only 99!

Thanks for this post. I have MCAS and EDS. I react in ways that have most Dr’s say that’s impossible. Hoping to find a specialist. Wish it was you.

OK, I think my daughter is going through this. How do we find a doctor that knows what I’m talking about? Because we have been to see a neurologist and next we’re supposed to go see a rheumatologist. She’s 24.

I'm allergic to liquid hydrocodone, but not the pill form and all medical adhesives, including paper tape and band aids. Why all doctors look at me like I'm crazy is beyond me

No one has EVER believed me. No one believed me when I would say “this food makes me swell” “this food triggers a migraine” “my joints feel like I’m 80”… they always come back and say “well I’ve never heard of that before”.

I’ve never seen someone list so many of my ‘weird things’. I’m convinced I have Eds but I can’t touch my thumb to my forearm so I must not 🙄

Wait this is me & doctors think I have some kind of hypochondria. I’m sitting here drinking pu-erh tea which is fermented & my face is going numb & I know it’s histamine. Allergist said I’m not classically allergic to my triggers so what am I supposed to do with that? And same with SSRIs btw they do not help me at all but mostly my panic disorder & extreme fatigue probably aren’t emotional issues at all it’s my overwhelmed nervous system & perpetually high histamine. Is anyone doing research on this?

I have EDS and 100% sure I have MCAS but the local doctors say it's just a social media diagnosis 🤦. So I have to try myself by try and error and guess what depends on no ovaries, toxic multinodular goiter, MCAS, what more do I have or a combination of some or everything 🤷

Ok SOO much of this applies for me…. Wonder if you see a connection to lupus as well? I feel like it’s all related….

I hated SSRI’s. They’d kind of help but did so by just shutting off my brain. When I was almost 40 I got diagnosed with Chiari malformation. I got decompressed and my anxiety went *poof.* Turns out it was a product of my brainstem being squeezed the whole time.

Wait… I can’t burp… that’s related? I recently was diagnosed with hypermobility spectrum disorder because I didn’t meet all the bendy tests in my hands (because my body’s locked up); I didn’t think to mention the non-burpy part at my rheumatology appointment.

Wow I have never heard of Retrograde Cricopharayngeal Dysfunction Syndrome before. I have hEDS- sought out a diagnosis after seeing signs in my son. I have no issues being able to burp, but he can't for the life of him! He'll be pleased to know it's likely yet another thing he can attribute to his bendy bod 😆
