Bro... Old school plumbers would have said you never get rid of your copper drain pipe.. at all! this stuff was invented to prevent complete over hauls because it is better than cast, plastic, paper etc! is can be easily repaired!

My house is 100% copper plumbing. The copper is in IMMACULATE condition. A plumber came for a small issue and I had my wife meet him. He tried to tell her that my copper is at “end of life” and he’d replumb my whole house. Told my wife that he’d make us a deal and only charge $10000! Needless to say that plumber did not get a call back.
