You know when you’re in high school, and you’re doing the fundamentals chant at the other team because they are playing like shit, that’s the same as in the majors. If your fundamentals are shit, and you play against a team who has better fundamentals, you should get blown out. People are so used to the long ball game, and now that a team who is scoring runs from just getting hits is doing what they’ve been doing all year, now it’s cheating. This is why you teach fundamentals and make it a big part of your game. And that is what Pat Murphy has done.
