@mr.paidsocial: I like work that lets me be creative and analytical in the same day. That is one of the reasons I enjoy media buying. In this clip I also talk about flexibility, variety and the excitement of seeing a campaign work. Those are personal preferences; the actual job depends on the employer, clients, responsibilities and compensation arrangement. Here is a way to put that into practice: 1. Look at the creative part of the job. Think about whether you enjoy developing messages, understanding an audience and working through different ways to present an offer. 2. Look at the analytical work. Consider whether you want to review results, question assumptions and use evidence to decide what to try next. 3. Ask about the working arrangement. Remote work and flexibility depend on the specific role; do not assume every media buying job comes with the same conditions. 4. Read the compensation details. A commission structure is a particular agreement with its own terms, not a universal feature or promise of unlimited earnings. 5. Consider the routine as well as the exciting moments. Campaigns that work can be rewarding, but the role also involves uncertainty, review and tests that do not deliver the result you wanted. Use these questions when comparing roles. The description is a fit checklist, not a salary forecast or a claim that everyone will enjoy the work as much as I do.
