@brandon.nicolasg: A lot of the people who reach out to me about becoming a firefighter are already established in another career. I’m obviously biased. I think it’s the best job in the world but that doesn’t mean making the switch is a simple decision. Starting over is a big commitment. The pay, schedule, hiring process, and impact on your family are all worth thinking through before you make the move. My advice is to explore it seriously, ask questions, and understand what you’re stepping into.
