Hey there. Howdy. & Aloha. 🤠🌺 Let’s see who actually reads this. Y’all know I worked with a shear company for almost two years. I’ve gotten plenty of questions about why I left. Simple. I no longer aligned. I value transparency. If questions are asked, answer them. If receipts are requested, show them. What happens after that can tell you everything you need to know. Sometimes you look at the direction of a company and wonder if the ship is being steered by an Average Joe. 😉 Think about a ship. You can fix the rooms, move people around, cut costs and rearrange the furniture—but if the ship is headed in the wrong direction, maybe you need to look at what’s steering it. And public perception? Twenty-five years ago maybe you could wait for things to “just go away.” The internet has entered the chat. 😂 Maybe acknowledge the chaos. Take ownership. Be transparent. Communicate. For God’s sake, hire a PR team. Does light shine through darkness? Absolutely. But somebody has to turn the damn light on. Then there was the math. Two days traveling with no pay. Dog sitter. Time away from my clients. I have a full schedule at home and can make more behind my chair. But don’t worry—I had that $34.99-a-day per diem. 😂 At some point you ask yourself: What am I doing this for? Because money isn’t everything. Transparency matters. Respect over aggression matters. Consistency matters. Accountability matters. Giving good people a reason to stay matters. Underneath all of it? TRUST. Companies can survive chaos, restructuring and mistakes. What’s much harder to survive is losing the trust of the people who helped make the company successful. Trust your gut. Protect your name. Respect the brand YOU built. And pay attention to the brands you attach it to. Sometimes leaving isn’t anger or drama. Sometimes you simply realize: I don’t like where this ship is going, and I don’t have to be on it. Food for thought. 🤠🌺
