Linked in our bio: our Fairbanks resource page with our favorite places to stay, things to do, exclusive hotel discounts, plus our FREE and Premium Northern Lights Guides to help you plan your trip. Everyone talks about Norway for the Northern Lights, but these 3 destinations deserve a spot on your aurora bucket list. We’ve spent the last 4 years traveling across the Arctic chasing the Northern Lights, and these are 3 places we fell in love with. 🥉 Nuuk, Greenland 🇬🇱 Greenland is one of the most incredible places we’ve photographed the Northern Lights. Between the dramatic Arctic landscapes, colorful houses, and aurora dancing above the fjords, it’s a destination that feels completely different from anywhere else we’ve visited. 🥈 Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada 🇨🇦 The Yukon doesn’t get nearly enough attention for Northern Lights travel. Whitehorse is surrounded by wilderness, mountains, and dark skies. 🥇 Fairbanks, Alaska 🇺🇸 Still our favorite place to see the Northern Lights. Fairbanks has a great combination of inland weather conditions, long winter nights, and incredible places to stay where you can watch the aurora right from your bed. Two of our favorite Northern Lights stays near Fairbanks: 🏡 Borealis Basecamp: Sleep in a glass-roof igloo and watch the Northern Lights from bed. They offer airport transfers, an on-site restaurant, dog sledding, reindeer walks, snowmobiling, and other winter activities, so you can enjoy your Alaska trip without renting a car. FLYANDFOTO for 5% off. 🏡 Wilding Hotels Fairbanks: Stay in a glass cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows, north-facing views, heated floors, private decks, and saunas. You can watch the Northern Lights without leaving your cabin. FLYANDFOTO10 for 10% off. Northern Lights season in Fairbanks typically runs from late August through early April. #northernlights #auroraborealis #fairbanksalaska #greenlandtravel #yukoncanada
