it lowk depends but id understand if it was an artist my friend really like, i would be fine with it. That may just be me tho cus i lovee concerts so much and i think its important people experience it at least once in their lifetime

If u made plans after already having plans for the bday hangout then that’s kinda fucked up, bc that happened to me but not a the concert smth else and it hurt so much bc she was my best friend

If I had the ticket first before your plans you’d honestly have to pay me to cancel something I planned ahead of time money isn’t easy to just replace

imo in all circumstances, you go to what came first unless it was a true unavoidable emergency. if the concert came first you go to that, if the party came first you go to that :)

honestly yes, i had my 21st planned this year and a lot of people said they couldn’t make it cuz they had concerts that same day, i was hurt and was so upset the whole day, i would’ve cancelled my party if i hadn’t spent so much money on it already

tbh it depends on how close u were to the person that’s having a birthday party and if yall not that close then tbh it’s not that messed up you can just gift them something when you come back

personally I'm doing whatever plan I made first. if i say yes to a birthday party and then get invited to a concert I'm saying no to the concert even though i absolutely love concerts. but if i already have tickets to the concert and i get invited to the birthday party I'm gonna rsvp no and then text happy birthday day of and probably give them a gift still

i think it’s more worth celebrating love, friendship, and another year someone has lived compared to an artist who doesn’t know you lol

Had a little party for mine and I invited 2 friends and neither of them showed up after tell me the entire day they were going to 😭 one of them ended going out later that night to a rave , tbh it did bother me but I still enjoyed the day bc my family was there , and they got me little gifts later. Just communicate with the person in advance so it doesn’t catch them off guard , I’m sure they can understand if u had already bought the tickets prior to the inv

Obviously, it depends on you guys’ relationship and how close you are with them. If you’re not very close, choose the concert. If you bought tickets way before the party was announced, go to the concert. If the party was announced before the concert, that’s not a good look. I’d probably still choose the concert if it’s a band/musician that rarely goes on tour/rarely tours in the city/region of the country.

I just think of things like this as if I would want someone to do this to me, and how I’d really feel on my bday if someone doesn’t show up for me because they wanted something else.

Depends, if a friend did this to me I would think about how much they like the artist preforming, when they got tickets vs when tickets were announced, and after getting tickets when they let me know about it. But I also rly like concerts so I get it

yeah it’s mean if you made a commitment you should stick to it and plan the concert next time ahead of time like i would plan my concerts months in advanced and buy tickets early and put it on the calendar but i guess if it’s just someone you don’t really know that well then it might be fine

Tbh yeah if u had plans prior to the concert. Had a friend plan her birthday trip for the year and most of us couldn’t go due to money issues but the friend who could canceled on her a few days before the trip and then went to a concert the same day. Weird.
