Being from Texas and a truck driver, we hardly get to hit up spots like these. Roscoe’s is a staple and been that way since my mama was in early adulthood. While at the Fonda, on tour, we took advantage of one being down the street. I was not disappointed. And it was a chill vibe. Wife got the Carol B which is a piece of chicken and a waffle and a side of yams. And I got the #4 Herbs, which is a half chicken, (and I got to select my 4 pieces so I chose breast, thigh, leg, and wing), gravy with onions, and a hot honey mustard, which to be honest was more of a spicy ranch than mustard. The food came out SUPER QUICK and was HOT AF. Our server btw was super chill and helpful, especially to us first timers. The yams were good but not crazy sweet, but good. The chicken has no seasoning, but was COOKED and CRISPY perfectly for me, personally. Even though the chicken isn’t seasoned, that’s where the syrup and hot sauce come in. Though the syrup is watery, it had the right flavor for me on the waffles and chicken. The gravy with onions was cool as was the spicy ranch, but to me, the chicken, waffle, syrup combo was right for me. Roscoe’s own hot sauces were a great touch but the syrup was all I needed with my food. Compared to Waffle House, Roscoe’s and WH look the same. But though I am a WH fan, Roscoe’s waffles taste better, in my opinion. And held the syrup better. To me, Roscoe’s ChickenN Waffles is a solid place to eat, atleast once in your life. Ohh by the way, you can actually get it delivered to your home if you don’t live near one. #chickenandwaffles #california #hollywood #food
