@donaldjackson6342: Alyssa Milano Was Not the First Phoebe Halliwell on Charmed, and a Different Actress Filmed the Unaired Pilot Alyssa Milano became the face of Phoebe Halliwell on Charmed. But she was not the first actress cast. Charmed premiered on Oct. 7, 1998, and just marked its 28th anniversary. Before that, Lori Rom, 51, played Phoebe in an unaired pilot with Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs. That version never made it to TV. Rom left the project before the series came out. According to creator Constance M. Burge, Rom left for personal reasons, as reported by In Touch. Over the years, there has been speculation about her exit. But the exact circumstances have never been publicly confirmed. Producer Aaron Spelling then turned to Milano, now 53. She was already known for Who’s the Boss? and Melrose Place. She joined Doherty and Combs to film a revised pilot, which aired on The WB. There is no confirmed sign that Rom’s performance played a role in the change. Milano played Phoebe for all eight seasons. After Doherty left in 2001, Rose McGowan joined as Paige Matthews, the sisters’ half-sister. The show ended on May 21, 2006, after 178 episodes. Today, the story lives on through the House of Halliwell rewatch podcast, hosted by Brian Krause, Combs, and Drew Fuller. Krause remembered Doherty, who d*ed in 2024 at 53, this way: “She was such a force.” Do you think the show would have worked with the original Phoebe? #Charmed #event #Lori #Movie #History
