@jerryhernandezrealtor: A lot of people leave California for Lower priced homes. sometimes it makes sense. But here’s something people don’t talk about enough… Someone sells their California home, moves to the Midwest for a $580k house, and five years later it’s worth $595k. Meanwhile the California home they sold might be worth $1 Million or more. Now they want to come back. But the market has changed. California real estate is expensive… but the long-term appreciation tends to be very different then the rest of the country. And a big reason for that is what people are buying into. Places like Orange County and Inland Empire aren’t just expensive for no reason. You have year-round Great 🌞weather, miles of coastline, strong job markets, good schools, and a lifestyle that people from all over the country are constantly trying to move into. That demand is what tends to push appreciation over time. That doesn’t mean everyone should stay. Some people truly want land, a slower pace, or lower costs. I get it! But if your plan is “leave for a few years and come back later”… Well, Just understand the risk. Because the hardest thing about California real estate isn’t buying in. It’s getting back in once you’re gone.
