One of the oldest pearls ever discovered, it was found on Marawah Island in Abu Dhabi in 2017 and dates back to the Neolithic period, between 5800 and 5600 BCE. The Abu Dhabi Pearl reflects the UAE’s deep historical connection with the sea, with pearl diving and trade serving as an important source of livelihood for thousands of years and contributing significantly to the economies of coastal communities before the discovery of oil.
