Life is largely about perspective, and our perspectives are often shaped by our individual experiences. For me, renting never gave me much peace of mind. I was paying around £1,000 every month, while still having my landlord inspect the property every six months. Despite the money I was spending, I never truly felt that the house was mine. Now I have a mortgage, and my monthly payment is around £800. Interestingly, I have much greater peace of mind because I’m building towards owning the property. The mortgage also comes with insurance and protections that provide some breathing room if I lose my job or become unable to meet the repayments. So, for me, the question isn't simply whether renting or having a mortgage is better. It comes down to what gives you financial security, peace of mind and a sense of ownership based on your individual circumstances. Ultimately, it's all about perspective.

How? Your landlord can put the rent up every year. With a mortgage you can get a fixed mortgage rate for 10 years. It won’t go up for 10 years! How will you pay for the rent when you retire and have a small pension. This advice is bad. You can also speak to your mortgage lender if your in financial difficulties

The bank can give you a mortgage break if your circumstances changed Everyone in the UK is paying a mortgage either yours or your are paying on behalf of the landlord.

I worked at the mortgage department of a big British bank and trust it takes a lot for them to take your house. We had repossession cases that lasted over 10 years.

Are you trying to insult those without mortgage cause I don’t get. If one can’t keep mortgage you can always pull out of it . Tell bank you can’t keep up, they sell their house take their money and give you back what is left. Stop spreading false narratives or discouraging people.

So they shouldn’t buy a house they should keep renting and paying someone else mortgage, you’re just misinforming people.

Be renting and be paying another persons mortgage. By the time you pay rent of 1200 for three years…. You would have built equity of thousands. So when they lose their jobs and tell landlord won’t they still be homeless? Choose your risk wisely

I’m sorry, but there is no logic in what you’re saying! So, if people who are renting lose their jobs, where are they going to move to? Will they still have peace of mind? A lot of people find peace of mind and stability after buying their own homes. You will only have to worry if you buy a house with monthly payments that are beyond what you can afford.
