When I was a kid, I had a babysitter that my mother had hired and he sexually abused me while she was at work and I told my mother and instead of her doing anything about it she told me that things like that happen isn’t that crazy and here it is almost 40 years later and it’s still affecting me when you get abused sexually as a child it never goes away.

God may want us to forgive those who SA us, but he doesn’t expect us to keep them in our lives. This is a human guilt response because as a society the abuser is supposed to be forgiven when they are old. The victim however must “move on, forgive, get over it”. I was raised in the church. I saw this over and over. Be free from your abuser! Do not support or feel sorry for them. That’s a trap.
