I didn’t understand what she meant until I got older. The first hour tells on you. Did you wake up because you wanted to… or because an alarm told you to? Did you sit with your coffee… or drink it while getting everyone out the door? Did you choose how your morning started… or did the day start demanding things from you before your feet even hit the floor? For years, my first hour belonged to everybody but me. Kids needed me. Work needed me. Bills needed me. There was always somewhere to be and something that couldn’t wait. I spent almost 10 years waitressing on the Las Vegas Strip, sometimes working 50–60 hours a week. And I thought that was just life. You wake up. You rush. You work. You come home exhausted. You do it again. Then somewhere in between all of that, you’re supposed to actually enjoy the life you’re working so hard to pay for. That part never made sense to me. Now my mornings look different. They’re slower. I can get my girls ready for school without knowing I have a shift waiting for me. I can drink my coffee without mentally calculating how many hours I need to work that week. I can be there for drop-off, school events, random days off and all those little moments that don’t seem important until you realize they’re the ones your kids will remember. And no, every morning isn’t peaceful. I’m still a mom of two. 😂 But my time belongs to me in a way it never did before. That’s what my grandma understood. Your first hour isn’t really about your morning. It’s about who owns your time. And once I realized I could learn different ways to earn from home instead of building my entire life around a work schedule, everything started changing. If you’re craving more income without giving away more of your life to get it, comment HOW and I’ll send you the free class that opened my eyes to what’s possible from home.
