@cbsnews: Singer John Legend urged voters in Dayton, Ohio, on Monday to support Democrat Amy Acton for governor and reelect Sherrod Brown to the Senate in the November 3 midterm elections. Legend, who grew up in nearby Springfield, criticized how his hometown had been portrayed following false claims made by President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during the 2024 presidential campaign that Haitian immigrants were eating residents’ pets. Local officials said there was no evidence to support the allegations, which Legend said had turned Springfield into “a punchline.”
