POV: swinging a 100 lb sledgehammer. If you've ever wondered what it feels like (and sounds like... hope your volume wasn't up too high :), this is the closest I can get you. This thing weighs more than half my bodyweight. I call it Grond... (if you get the Tolkein reference, you know what I'm talking about). It's loadable (the head AND thick handle are both filled with lead pellets) and is an absolute BEAST to use. The core work I get from this thing is just incredible... but it goes beyond that to being basically total body training. It takes everything you've got to move it. You don't really swing it... you heave it up as high as you can then try and make sure it comes down on the tire and not anywhere else. After 5 sets of 3 reps on each side, I switched to my 40 lb sledgehammer (that I call Volendrung... Skyrim reference on this one) for some

After 5 sets of 3 reps on each side, I switched to my 40 lb sledgehammer (that I call Volendrung... Skyrim reference on this one) for some "light" work. It feels like a toy after using the 100 lb one, I have to say. Sledgehammer work just in general is awesome...great for core and for explosive power (and coordination!). --- The hat camera I'm using for the POV video is called an X5 Mini, made by Drift Innovation. REALLY cool piece of video equipment. They have this and a bunch of other wearable/mountable cameras on their site. I've used it for a few videos already and will be using for MANY more...will be doing a full review of it soon here, too.
