@frontlinenewssa: A little girl went to sleep beside her grandmother. By morning, she was gone. Nearly six months later, two-year-old Omphile Sethole is still missing, and her family is desperately searching for answers. On 2 May 2026, Omphile disappeared from her grandparents’ home in Ga-Mabuela village, near Mokopane in Limpopo. Her grandmother reportedly woke up around 6am to discover the toddler missing and a bedroom window wide open. Nothing else had been stolen. But the mystery only deepened. According to the family, a suspicious vehicle had been spotted driving slowly around their property the day before Omphile vanished. Then, on 15 May, police arrested her paternal grandparents, aged 52 and 55, on child negligence charges. The charges relate to allegations about Omphile’s treatment while she was living in their care. They have not been convicted, and the charges do not establish who was responsible for her disappearance. Meanwhile, her mother, Nompumelelo Sithole, continues pleading for her daughter’s safe return. Police have also warned the public against spreading false claims that Omphile has been found dead. The search continues, and the biggest question remains unanswered: Where is little Omphile? Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Moshe Mashaba on 082 319 9448 or SAPS Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Please share her story. Someone, somewhere, may know something that could help bring her home.

She’s just a little girl who should just be learning which animal is her favourite, what noise they make and what colour she likes to wear the most and instead—this.
