@art_dailydose: Most sand artists work on a lightbox. This one works in mid-air. Standing at a table covered in dark sand, the artist scoops up a handful and throws it upward with one quick, precise movement. For a split second the flying cloud takes the shape of a picture, and then it is gone. In this video the sand turns into a yellow croaker fish, Voldemort, a leaping lion and a woman in a traditional opera robe, each shown next to the image it was matching. Getting the angle, speed and amount of sand right on every throw is what makes it work, because there is no second chance once the sand leaves the hand. Throwing sand into pictures is only one of the artist's specialties. The same creator also makes sand paintings underwater and upside down.
