@african_affairs_: Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has received an honorary doctorate from Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in Moscow. The recognition comes during his visit to Russia for the third Russia–Africa Summit, scheduled for October 28–29, 2026. The university, known for its international student community and longstanding links with countries across Africa and the Global South, has historically played a role in promoting educational and cultural cooperation between Russia and other nations. Mahama’s visit forms part of Ghana’s broader diplomatic engagement with Russia and other African partners, with discussions expected to focus on trade, investment, education, technology and development cooperation.
