I think automatically charging the parents (outside of cases of them providing/improperly storing the gun) opens up a whole other door that I don’t think will benefit the black community considering what we’ve been through. I think it would make more sense to find out how he got access to said gun and charge that person with negligence etc.

Only problem with that idea, is that the criminal justice system will only charge minority parents (Black mostly) with those charges and yt people hardly ever getting charged. We have to be careful what we ask for. Definitely think fines/medical bills should be charged.

This is the ONLY way it will stop happening. If parents have some sort of repercussions. You can’t force a parent to parent but you can make them have repercussions if they don’t

And he was on an ankle monitor related to a prior shooting. He knew, his mom knew. The juvenile justice system knew. And then they did nothing and let him do it again 💔
