I believe that wages havent grown properly, but this figure is way off. Whatever they are showing, that is not an accurate representation. The word "comfortably" is purposely vague here. Hurts the discussion more than it helps

in ohio I make a little over $100,000 a year and live comfortably having a family of 4 my wife is a stay at home Mom and we have a house and 36 acres and a vacation home in Thailand we spend 1 month a year there.i agree 100k isn't what it used to be but you can still live comfortably

these numbers are based on living in the most expensive cities found in the state. not the entire state. also they use the median household income when determining "middle class".

Yeah this is about right. I’m 29 in Texas and have only recently started making around 200k. That seems to about be the threshold where I don’t have to constantly think about budgeting and can just do things and buy reasonable things when I want while still saving some.

My family of 3 makes $35k a year and we definitely aren’t rich but we live well enough. We have an emergency account, no debt, and we buy most of our clothes and things second hand. We go on small trips and do free and low cost outings in between. It’s not glamorous but we aren’t struggling, and it’ll do until I graduate and can hopefully get a good job!

I've never made over $100,000, my wife stays at home three kids $365,000 home paid off $120,000 1 acre lot paid off two cars paid off. $100,000 in the bank and a good chunk and a Roth IRA all that 33 years old. some people just don't know how to manage money. lol
