@promisekeptbydanna: 💚 I've never sat through an IEP meeting as a special education professional, but I have helped implement IEPs. I've also experienced them as a parent, and one thing I've learned is that what's written on paper needs to make sense in real life. It's one thing to be told your child will receive support. It's another to understand what that support actually looks like throughout their school day. Who's responsible for providing it? When will it happen? What happens when your child is struggling? And how will you know if it's helping? These are questions parents should feel comfortable asking. I've learned that asking for clarification isn't being difficult. It's making sure I understand what's being planned for my child. One question I encourage every IEP parent to ask is: "What will this support look like during my child's actual school day?" Because an IEP shouldn't just sound good in a meeting. It should make a meaningful difference in the classroom. And parents deserve to understand how. 💚 #PromiseKept #IEPAdvocacy #SpecialEducation #ParentAdvocacy #IEPSupport
