Netanyahu’s main Israel election rival The ex-army chief of staff-turned leader of the Yashar party is among the main candidates hoping to become the next prime minister on the “anyone-but-Bibi” card. To win power, Eisenkot will have to pull together an unruly coalition of leftists, centrists and right-wing but secular parties, and possibly have to rely on Arab parties agreeing to vote for him and his policies without being invited to join the government. He will then have to present a political programme: he has been light on details so far, though he has argued for a “diplomatic track” to back up the war in Gaza, and to create some sort of future for the West Bank. *FOR NEWS PURPOSES* #netanyahu #election #israel #political #worldnews
