Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced on X that Peter Elweru has been stripped of his military ranks and demoted to Private. In his post, Muhoozi claimed that more than 20 of Elweru’s former soldiers had been arrested and were cooperating with investigators. He also claimed that they agreed Elweru had been mentally unwell for a long time. Muhoozi urged Elweru to surrender, warning that doing so could save his life. He further claimed that Elweru’s wife had been arrested over alleged domestic abuse, accusing her of mistreating him for the past eight years.
