I have been an HR director for 15 years, my friends call me and ask how they should respond to this sort of issue at their job. Of course, I could never do that, but I tell them to say, thanks for your feedback. I'll take that into consideration. Leave it at that, the more you talk, the more trouble you can get in. One word can change everything. Then they come to HR and file a hostile work evironment claim. Be polite but less is more.

I’m 4’8” and told I’m intimidating. Last time I rolled my chair back, crossed my legs and said. “ I concur but my interest is piqued on how you came to that conclusion, please elaborate.” They walked away and avoid my short ass now.

I love it. I have someone who uses passive aggressiveness to try bullying me into taking on a scope of work that belongs to one of her subordinates. She tries to rationalize it by saying she otherwise doesnt ask me to do much for her.
