OldBryan :
remember guys, people sign up for their trees to be used as the Rockefeller Christmas tree, they don't just go and cut down any old tree, and people are on that waiting list for YEARS!!!

The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree attracts millions of visitors, generates tourism revenue, supports local businesses and jobs, brings people together in celebration, and ultimately provides lumber for affordable housing.

i’m an environmental scientist and my professional focus is on renewable resources, and I feel the need to let yall know that we (my family) purchases a $5 permit from the USFS each christmas to go up into the forest and cut a tree down ourselves for christmas. thinning ignitable fuel from our forests (in a controlled manner) is really important, so I don’t think it is harmful to cut one down on someone’s front lawn who purposefully planted it there to become the rockefellar tree!!!!!

I don’t think you guys understand, a lot of the trees that are picked were grown by people with the hope that it would be picked FOR THIS. They don’t just wander around like “oh yes let’s chop this one”
