@gorgecanyon: Southern Maryland has stories that never made it into the history books… 👀📜 The Proctor Family Legend connects generations of family names, historic communities, and a controversial allegation involving close-relative relationships and the desire to preserve certain physical features. From Piscataway and Accokeek to Brandywine and Croom, the region holds a deep history of interconnected families, changing social hierarchies, and traditions passed down through generations. Some parts of this story connect to documented regional history. Other claims remain allegations that have not been established by verified genealogical evidence. So where does the historical record end… and where does the legend begin? 🕯️ Respect to all descendants and families connected to Southern Maryland’s history. #TimelineHack #HistoryFacts #HiddenHistory #MarylandHistory #AfricanAmericanHistory

Had a Proctor as a counselor in high school in Fort Washington…his personality surpassed what we knew to be true. He had very light complexion and very soft fine hair. The images don’t correlate.

They took great risk in birthing children with defects, mental and physical. I know a man from those families that battles mentally. The way people boast on this type of activity is sick 😳
