@helloapplehome: Get HomeView NOW and control Apple Home Don’t wait for Apple’s HomeView and want to control your Apple home? Turn an old iPad into a permanent Apple Home dashboard instead! 👀 No new hardware. No waiting for Apple. And it actually works… If you’ve got an old iPad sitting in a drawer, you can give it a new lease of life by turning it into a dedicated smart home control centre. Using a third-party dashboard app, you can create a customised interface that brings your Apple Home devices together in one place. 💡 Control your smart lighting 📹 View your security cameras 🔒 Check and control smart locks 🏠 Activate your favourite scenes 🌡️ Monitor temperatures and sensors And here’s the clever part! By enabling Guided Access in your iPad’s Accessibility settings, you can lock the device into your chosen dashboard app, preventing anyone from accidentally exiting it. You can also configure the display to stay awake, making it ideal for a dedicated smart home setup. Wall mount it in the hallway, place it on a kitchen counter or keep it on your desk. You’ve now got a touchscreen smart home controller that’s always ready when you need it. Of course, it won’t offer everything Apple’s upcoming HomeView promises, but it’s a great way to repurpose hardware you already own. Would you use an old iPad as a dedicated Apple Home dashboard, or are you waiting for HomeView? #applehome #smarthome #homekit #homepad #HomeView
