They say your gut is your second brain and in a lot of spiritual practices fasting is required because it allows you to connect with the divine spirit..... Food disrupts our spiritual connection.. If you think about it, as humans we spend so much time thinking about what we're eating or thinking about what our next meal is going to be... That doesn't allow the Divine spirit to move and communicate with us as needed..... When I fasted for Ramadan my communication with Spirit was Stronger, my dreams were clearer, and my spirit felt so much lighter.
