The things Everett taught us are truly endless, but perspective sits right at the top. It’s the little moments like these that we will never ever take for granted. Sleeping in a hospital room for over a year with him, the rock hard chairs, no bed, nurses coming in all night, monitors constantly beeping, lights everywhere, never really sleeping… being away from home for months at a time. More difficult than the lack of our own comfort, watching our child fight for his life in those very rooms, a lot of times with nothing more we could do. So when I say we used to pray for mornings like this, we LONGED for this. A slow Saturday. A quiet home. A cozy bed. A baby in our arms. A HEALTHY baby in our arms. I can’t stop thanking you Jesus! From the deepest place in my heart. I’ll never stop talking about it and I’ll never stop bringing you praise. Because we know what it feels like to long for this. To be in the waiting place. I know there are so many people in that place right now. Sitting in hospital rooms. Grieving someone they love. Praying for a baby. Waiting for things to change. Today I just want to gently remind and encourage to not miss the small things. The ordinary, quiet, simple moments just like this. Hold your people a little closer. Slow down. Take it in. Hold on to hope. And thank Him again, and again, and again. 🤍 If it’s not good, He’s not done. #grief #perspective #gratitude #childloss #medicalmom
