Not every decision requires a lengthy explanation. And not every situation deserves another attempt simply because she once tolerated it. There comes a point when she recognizes that what she once accepted no longer aligns with what she understands about herself. The one-sided relationship. The constant availability. The expectations that leave no room for her own needs. The habits she maintained out of obligation rather than genuine desire. She stops asking herself how much more she can endure and begins asking whether enduring it is necessary at all. She understands that growth will sometimes require her to disappoint people who benefited from her lack of boundaries. And she makes peace with that. Because she can appreciate what something once meant to her without agreeing to carry it into the next chapter of her life. She doesn't have to prove that something is terrible before deciding it isn't right for her anymore. Sometimes, reclaiming your life begins with a simple sentence: “That no longer works for me.”
