@historical_sports_goon: Widely considered one of the greatest pitching duels in Major League Baseball history, Game 7 of the 1991 World Series delivered high-stakes drama from start to finish. On October 27, 1991, Minnesota Twins starter Jack Morris famously battled Atlanta Braves right-hander John Smoltz through nine scoreless innings at the packed Metrodome. Refusing to leave the game, a legendary 36-year-old Morris returned to pitch a brilliant 10th inning, completing a rare 10-inning complete-game shutout. In the bottom of the 10th, Gene Larkin stepped up as a pinch-hitter with the bases loaded and delivered a walk-off single to score Dan Gladden, clinching a 1-0 victory and the World Series title for Minnesota. To this day, it stands as the only Game 7 in Fall Classic history to end 1-0 in extra innings, cementing its place in baseball lore. My dad won tickets to this entire series and there are more pictures of those tickets in our family picture album that year than there are of us kids. 😂

Kirby with the walkoff to win game 6 to get a game 7. Then Jack Morris, a 10 inning complete game shutout. The best World Series ever.

Back when baseball was fun to watch and we had athletes that loved the game more than the salary.

That was a great world series. The match up was unexpected as both teams were not good in 90. So glad Kirby got a ring.

I was at the home games. It was awesome. Both teams were in last place in their division at mid-season. What both did was wild, to come from last to first.
