@mikelamartv: During my darkest moments, when people I counted on weren’t there, God was the one I could always turn to. One day, I felt drawn to church, then to buy a Bible. Growing up, I was taught that writing on one was disrespectful, so writing these messages on it felt like defacing it. But something kept telling me to do it. Looking back, I believe God knew I’d need those reminders. Years later, those marked words mean everything to me. Whenever life gets heavy, I return to them and remember how far I’ve come. I remember when I wrote them and where I stood, how I felt, and the urge to NEVER forget. What I once thought was defacing the Bible was actually how I learned to hold on to God’s Word.
