@homeloveconstruction: This video has a very satisfying: **“Ohhh… THAT’S why.”** moment. 😂 Brad is watching old, nasty plumbing parts get removed and keeps wondering what the actual scope is. The cabinet isn’t changing. The sink isn’t changing. The surrounding setup isn’t changing. So why tear into the drain assembly? Then it becomes clear. The sink wasn’t draining properly and was holding water. Now the drain and bottom gasket replacement make a whole lot more sense. Not every plumbing repair is about replacing the whole fixture. Sometimes the problem is hidden in one small connection underneath it. No he added a trap that can be removed and cleaned out instead of clogging

I think he was replacing the water filters at the bottom of the thing that basically purifies the water to get all the toxic chemicals and junk out of it, which I think is cool. That’s kind of what it looks like to me

The reason is obvious, smell was the issue not good vent the trap he installed can pull air in so the trap doesn’t do vacuum

Someone has installed the wrong waste. The sink has an overflow so needs a slotted waste. Someone fitted a non slotted one and sealed up the overflow. He’s replacing it with the correct waste.

But also at the same time, he did change out the old pipes and he did add a drain drainage filter as well

The old was waste wasn’t an overflow waste

Dylan Aeron Brown :
Old waste was probably unslotted and new one was slotted to accept overflow

They had the overflow drain plugged because of the smell coming from the trap. He replaced the trap with a filtered trap, and now there shouldn’t be any more smell and he should have better drain flow
