Hearing your first cry filled my heart with so much happiness and emotion. Even though your cry was so tiny and faint, to Mama, it was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. It was the sound that told me you were still here, still fighting, and still being given a chance to see the world 🥺🤍 Behind all that happiness, there were so many fears that I kept hidden inside. I didn’t know what would happen next. I didn’t know if your tiny body would be able to breathe on its own, if you would be okay, or how long the journey ahead of us would be. That night, all Mama could do was pray. I begged God to protect every breath you took, to strengthen your tiny body, and to give you the chance to grow up. I kept pleading with God, asking Him to give you the chance to live, so that one day I could watch you run, laugh, and call me Mama. Maybe I couldn’t always be by your side just yet. Maybe, for a little while, Mama’s hugs had to be replaced by the warmth of your incubator. But believe me, my little one, there was never a single second when Mama stopped thinking about you or praying for you. Mama will always wait for you, cherish every little bit of progress you make, and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. Welcome to the world, my little boy. The world may not yet know how precious you are, but even before you were born, you had already become Mama’s whole world. We have only just begun this long journey, Archie. Hold on to Mama’s hope, my little one. Until one day, we can leave these memories behind and look back on them together, with tears of happiness in our eyes.
