He was my Bolt for 14 years. He had epilepsy, and yet he lived so many more years than anyone ever told me he would. He followed me everywhere, even to the bathroom. Once, when someone broke into our home, he threw himself over me to protect me, making sure the intruder couldn’t get near me. He was my best friend, my constant companion, my soulmate. During his final days. His little bones could no longer carry him wherever I went. So instead of following me, he would simply watch me from wherever he was, always making sure I was still within his sight. Even when his body could no longer follow me, his eyes never stopped looking for me. The purest part of me was gone with him that day. It’s been four years, and the pain is still unbearable. But my sweet boy showed me what true love really is, and for that, I will be grateful for the rest of my life. ❤️
