how much is the freaking allowance

Jessica And Parker :

My mom did this with every paycheck I earned in highschool and when I moved out she gave it to me it was better then spending the money

scissor._.sundae⚢✄🧡🤍🩷 :

I don’t know how much of an allowance she got at a time but it depends for example let’s say she got like $50 which to me is a lot because I don’t get a lot but that’s really not that much in this society now if she saved it up for a long time to be able to get that doll that’s good you know I mean if it was like she had like $300 of allowance and spent it all the second she got it, that isn’t great, but if she had to wait and save up money for something she really wanted I think that’s still teaching her that she has to wait for a while for what she wants you know. For example, like me I don’t have a job so when I get money, I don’t necessarily funded the second. I get it, but I spend it kind of quick because there are a few different things that I want and so when I’m able to get them I do and it’s not just randomly deciding I want it. I’ve been wanting it for years. I don’t hate her mom‘s idea at all, though. I feel like putting half of it in an account does make a lot of sense. You know then if she wants to buy something like that, she would just have to wait double the amount of time or if she spent it all at once, she’d have to wait a little you know.

If you have nothing more important to spend it on, what’s wrong with using your money on something that makes you happy?

an interest-earning account wont really do you well long term due to inflation... buying assets like that doll can be pawned or auctioned off for a higher price in the future.

Agana :

This is wrong. I was given allowance too (about 5 euros) and I saved up and never bought anything. One day I wanted to buy an IPad for myself and my mother encouraged me because I saved it up fair and square.
