ok well. long story short started at the front desk 6 months in bather got injured I step in/up took over bathing, current groomer says hey you've got a talent(aka I'm lazy) and had me start to help her groom. fine. two months later they both quit same week leave me in the salon to run the whole by myself the owner lives in ohio and is not a groomer... I again step in/up buy $1000 worth of tools and take over the shop and run in for another year and a half alone. then owners stop paying rent gets evicted. I'm out of a job. but by this time I was smart enough to download my client list when things start looking slightly south. glad I did cause now I own my own business just 3 years after I started at the front desk which is even more amazing because 2 years and 11 months ago I was homeless. Now I am not an amazing groomer and by far don't know all the things but I LOVE MY JOB and my dogs.

I have been grooming for 30yrs . I was lucky enough to apprenticeship with a amazing groomer who was a family friend. I still go to trade shows every year and take classes. I do think we need some kind of regulation in the grooming industry we have to many people picking up shears and calling themselves a groomer.

I self taught myself and practiced on my friends dogs and now I’m a official AKC Safe groomer and working at a salon.
