The Democrats are hellbent on turning us into the EU, which for years couldn't get out of its own way with regard to AI regulation, which is why they're now a distant third place after the US and China. And actually, the EU is now trying to change those draconian laws so that they have a chance in hell to catch up. . I agree with you, it wouldn't last for sure, and not only that, but the frontier US AI companies would simply relocate offshore, which would be extremely expensive, could possibly have national security implications, and handicap us with China, which is something China has been waiting to see happen for a long time, especially given that their markets just took a huge nosedive recently off the back of bad AI news.
