@npr: If you feel like you’ve seen too many campaign ads this midterm election cycle, there are billions of reasons why.   According to AdImpact, this has officially become the most expensive election cycle ever, when it comes to campaign ads. The tally is up to $11.22 billion for ads already run and reservations through Election Day. Republicans have about a $400 million advantage. The staggering sums surpassed the 2024 campaign, which included congressional races and a presidential race that cost more than $3 billion on its own.   Find “NPR News Now” wherever you listen to podcasts.   Host: Korva Coleman/NPR Reporter: Tamara Keith/NPR Producer: Michael Zamora/NPR
