Dogs that develop respiratory symptoms while still at the shelter are typically treated with a combination of Doxycycline, Amoxicillin, Azithromycin, and cough suppressants. Most of those dogs recover within about 7 days. This combination of medicine is EXTREMELY important, particularly including Azithromycin.
